Bank loans in the Dominican Republic for foreigners can be nearly impossible to achieve due to jurisdiction concerns (or high bank risks) should a foreigner, not living here full time, and / or without residency default on the loan. Bank interest rates are high here. Often around 7% 10%. The loan process can take 6 or more months to finally achieve the funds with much frustration, communication breakdowns (language barriers) and mounds of paperwork and requests for private and personal documents will be required, starting with a TransUnion Credit Report, and of course a Bank Loan Application will be needed.

Additionally, Bank required appraisals also cause assessed values to go up way to quickly, thus possibly hurting the 10 or 15 year property tax exemption incentives offered here for future buyers.
